1. What is your position at BPD Zenith?
“I'm Shahril, a Maximo Consultant based in Malaysia. I joined BPD in July 2022 and am an integral part of the APAC teams."
2. What led you to choose this career path?
"Starting as a system engineer, my passion for IT has remained constant. Despite holding a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, I intentionally steered my career towards the dynamic world of information technology. The decision to switch into IT was driven by a genuine passion for the subject, as I found fulfilment and excitement together with the innovations that this industry continually presents. This journey represents not just professional growth but also showcases my adaptability and curiosity driving my commitment to the IT industry."
3. Which part of your job do you most enjoy?
“I find genuine joy in tackling challenges within my role. Every issue is a chance for me to apply my skills, analyze complexities, and craft effective solutions. This continuous problem-solving not only sharpens my abilities but also fuels my professional development."

“What I cherish most about BPD Zenith is its nurturing environment that fosters talent and promotes continuous growth. 5. What’s a work-related accomplishment you’re really proud of?
“Moving from mechanical engineering to an infrastructure consultant role in my previous job involved substantial learning. Now, at BPD, delving into the technicalities and functionalities of Maximo is broadening my expertise and contributing significantly to my professional growth."
6. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
“When I'm off work, I enjoy playing futsal or football with friends and occasionally take my kid for a swimming, as they adore water sports! Additionally, my partner and I involve our kids in charity & community work, joining our buddies for community initiatives."
7. If you were not a Maximo Consultant, what alternative career path would you have chosen and why?
“Currently, I find myself continuously exploring more in IT technology. I am actively pursuing certifications in cloud computing, seeking ways to expand and deepen my knowledge in the field.”
8. What is a quality that you have cultivated in your career or personal life that has been an important part of your personal or professional development?
“The commitment to continuous self-learning has been a key in shaping my personal and professional development over the years. Recognizing that learning is an ongoing process, I have cultivated this quality, which has proven to be greatly beneficial in both aspects of my life. Maintaining humility and being open to teaching others always yields greater benefits.”
9. What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
“After a hectic day, my partner and I prioritize quality time together. We cherish listening to our daughter's school stories and watching our son's exploring his world. Sometimes, we just unwind with a cozy movie night and paired with our favourite comfort food!”

10. What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
“On weekends, I'm quite versatile! Whether it's catching up with family, running errands like shopping or car washing, or tackling household chores like laundry, I'm always up for it! However, what truly excites me is exploring new cafes in town with my partner, who's a coffee enthusiast. On other weekends, we embark on road trips, to enjoy the scenic beauty of the outskirts, which a great escape from city life!"
