Meet the Team – Sameed Khan

What is your position at BPD Zenith?

I am Sameed Khan, and I am currently working as a Graduate Consultant.

What led you to choose this career path?

I am an IT geek with a creative mindset of doing something new daily, making life and business easier. Since I was a kid, I have had a curiosity about solving different problems with the help of technology. The reason for picking up a consultation role was a dream start for me in the IT industry. I started as a fresher in BPD Zenith and worked on my way of exploring my passion for consulting. This role allowed me to solve clients’ everyday problems with Maximo functionalities and their use. It helped me find the best solutions for them and help the business get ROI on their Maximo services.

Which part of your job do you most enjoy?

There are several things I enjoy. I like to communicate with people, and this role gives me the privilege to reach out to our clients with solutions and listen to their queries. I think networking is the critical element that never gets me bored when working. As customer interaction is an integral part of any business, I feel I am managing that fort quite well.

What do you like about working at BPD Zenith?

I am fortunate to be in a business that trusts you and your skills. I am a self-starter, and I work well within a team. I am given the opportunity to do this but also have the chance to work with a skilled team that I can learn and bounce ideas. One of the unique things about working at BPD Zenith is how amazing the team is. I enjoy their company both in and out of work.

What are the values that drive you?

Accountability is what drives me every day. Life after the pandemic has taught me many things that helped me create a sense of resilience and character. I think the right way to get the best out of you is self-awareness, which allows you to know the reality and pushes you to strive for more in your life. And once you become accountable, you are willing to take criticism constructively and try to improve yourself. These strategies helped me and established me as a confident professional.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love cooking as it’s one of my hobbies. Most of the time, I try making a different type of biryanis. Console gaming is where you will find me in my free space. Travelling and exploring new cuisines in Melbourne is one of my leisure activities. And most Sundays, I usually take my pet out for a run and play league cricket tournaments.

If you were not a Graduate Consultant, what alternative career path would you have chosen and why?

Probably a Men Fashion Influencer – I absolutely love learning about clothing combinations, using different knitwear with chinos, that would create many other combinations, which we usually would use for casual/formal wearing. Despite being in Melbourne for almost 4.5 years, I have followed top-notch world designers who have changed men’s grooming. I believe suiting is one of the important things to look after in the corporate world, where your first impression makes a lot of difference, especially in consultancy.

What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?

Over the last few months, I have worked on Maximo training and support requests to get the best insights and knowledge about IBM Maximo. I can proudly say that I have learned many things in Maximo, and the credit must be given to BPD Zenith for giving me plenty of time to understand its core functionalities. Moving forward, I will be eyeing key projects and other enhancements for valued clients. Furthermore, I will bring efficiency to the different business processes within BPD Zenith.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

Apart from cooking and indulging in beautiful food, I love working out, which helps me refresh my mind, listen to Sufi music, read self-development blogs and play FIFA with my mates.

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

Going out for breakfast or lunch. I love travelling and exploring new restaurants. I am often photographing food and then spend many hours editing photos; otherwise, I am usually cooking and photographing my own food for my own Instagram account.
