Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.0

With the User Group season now behind us, it's the perfect time to reflect on the updates and developments from the recent Maximo UK & Ireland User Group, particularly regarding the highly anticipated launch of Maximo Application Suite (MAS) version 9.0, which took place in June 2024. 

IBM’s strategic direction with MAS continues to impress, as the suite introduces a multi-year roadmap designed to deliver new capabilities, modernised applications, embedded AI, and top-tier mobile applications. These enhancements are expected to solidify Maximo's position as the leading Asset Management solution for the next 20+ years. 

 With the End of Support (EOS) for version 7.6.x scheduled for September 30, 2025, it's crucial for businesses to initiate planning and budgeting for migration to MAS. If you haven't already started, now is the time to collaborate with your business partner to ensure a smooth transition. 

 While MAS 9.0 is not a major release, it brings several significant realignments within the suite. Key areas of investment and enhancement include: 

• AI – Introduction of GenAI capabilities to more MAS users, including new models, Work Order intelligence, and workflow improvements. Enhancements to Visual Inspection, Health, and Predict. 
• Mobile and User Experience – Ongoing development of work, calibration, and inspection forms, particularly for regulated industries. A new app for Storeroom Clerks is also in the works. 
• Scheduler/FSM – Improvements to the Scheduler and enhanced dispatching capabilities, along with new dashboards. 
• IT/OT Integration – Better interoperability of processes with Maximo for IT. 
• Ecosystem Enhancements – Accelerators to address critical needs, such as the introduction of a carbon emissions module for Manage. 
• RCM Library Expansion – An expanded reliability-centered maintenance library to help users build and implement maintenance strategies more efficiently and reduce costs. 
• Emissions management
• Support for OpenShift 4.13 and 4.14.
• Certification on newer versions of BIRT and Cognos 
• And much more!
